On 15 May, a new Decree for Amending the Decree with legal force for application of the Law on Foreigners during the state of emergency was enacted. By this Decree, the period of residence of foreigners whose short-term residence or a visa for short-term residence has expired during the state of emergency, is extended both for the duration of the state of emergency and after the state of emergency, that is, until 31 August 2020.
In addition, the validity period of the permits for temporary residence and permanent residence is also extended to 31 August 2020. The country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a Public Announcement in which it advises foreigners to closely monitor the developments of the situation, and if conditions for travel emerge, to commence procedures for regulating their residence in accordance with the Law on Foreigners.
